Since the beginning of his artistic creativity, Daeni has focused on the subject of the female portrait. The artist is best-known for his romantic scenes which clearly show the influence of the Pre-Raphaelites. The drawing is signed lower right 'Pino'. A certificate of authenticity by Cunard Fine Arts is enclosed. The sheet is firmly mounted into a mat and framed. Both work and frame are in very good condition. The mat cut-out measures 51 x 35,5 cm. The overall dimensions, including the frame, are 95.2 x 80.5 cm. Pino Daeni (Giuseppe Dangelico Pino; 1939-2010) Pino Daeni grew up in Italy and in the beginning he worked as an autodidact. Eventually, he went to the Art Institute of his hometown Bari and to the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milano in 1960 to refine his drawing abilities. His works received first recognition in the 1960s and 1970s and he was honored with awards. During this period he also started receiving many commissions for book cover illustrations by large international publishing houses.
