Notes: Paulémile was the youngest son of artist Camille Pissarro. His godfather was Claude Monet who became his teacher and close friend. After his father's death in 1903, Paulémile's mother encouraged him to pursue a more practical trade. While working in a lace factory, Paulémile's brother, Lucien, encouraged him to send some of his watercolors to London to sell. Encouraged by this, he left the factory to dedicate himself to painting full-time.
