Watercolour over light preliminary pencil drawing on chamois-coloured slightly ribbed laid paper 12.7 x 15.8 cm, framed under glass. Signed 'HE. Cross' in pencil lower right. - Fine condition, colours fresh. Within the frame the watercolour is mounted on wood with overhanging margins. The watercolour is known to Patrick Offenstadt, Paris; we would like to thank him for his confirmatory information. Provenance Private collection, Belgium According to kind information given by Patrick Offenstadt the work, as a first sketch, relates to another watercolor from the collection R. Lehman, Metropolitan Museum, New York, showing the artist's garden and dating from 1908.
