Norman Parkinson's love of women and admiration of fauvist painting, resulted in this photograph which was published in the November 1959 issue of British Vogue. Thought to be one of his favourite paintings, Parkinson's model, Adele Collins, wears a velvet toque by Otto Lucas, similar to the hat painted by Kees van Dongen forty years earlier.
