Marie Laurencin (French/Spanish, 1885-1956), Portrait of a Lady, 1924, graphite and colored pencil drawing on paper, signed and dated in pencil lower right, sheet: 6.5"h x 6.5"w, overall (with frame): 14.75"h x 14.75"w. Provenance: From the Estate of Reynaldo Luza (Peruvian, 1893-1978). Descended through family to his nephew. Purchased in Paris, France in the 1920s by Mr. Luza. Mr. Luza was the principal fashion artist for Harper's Bazaar magazine from 1921-1948 where he divided his time between New York, Paris and London.
