ANTHONY VAN DYCK (CIRCLE OF) (Antwerp 1599-1641 London) Guillaume de Vos. Red chalk on thin, cream laid paper. 220x170 mm; 8 3/4x6 3/4 inches. Sword in an oval watermark. Van Dyck's etched portrait of fellow Flemish artist Guillaume de Vos first appeared around 1641 in the Icones Principum Virorum Doctorum (see Hollstein 15).
