PFLEIDERER, EBERHARD (20th century sculptor), “Javelin Thrower”, circa 1920/30. Bronze figure of an athletic, naked man throwing a javelin on a rectangular plinth, marked ‘EBERH.PFLEIDERER. Ulm’, on a stone base, the javelin is removable. The artist is mentioned in the ‘Christliches Kunst-Blatt für Kirchen, Schule und Haus’ (Christian Art Journal for Churches, Schools and Homes) (published by Dr. theol. David Koch, 12 December 1914, pp. 353–380). In 1917, he was involved in the creation of the Stuttgart Reformation Monument on Hospitalplatz. Height approx. 34.5 cm, length approx. 37 cm, weight approx. 6,220 g. The stone base is damaged on two corners, signs of age. SHIPPING TO THE USA MUST BE ARRANGED BY THE BUYER.
