After Antonio Canova (Italian, 1757-1822). "The Three Graces." 18th century. Terracotta sculptural group modeled after Antonio Canova’s celebrated composition depicting the three daughters of Zeus in a classical embrace. The intertwined figures are rendered with refined naturalism and flowing drapery, the composition balanced with academic grace characteristic of Neoclassical studio sculpture. The surface retains a warm aged patina consistent with 18th–19th century terracotta. 48". Provenance: Purchased in France prior to 2009.
