Peter Mandl (Born 1947) Glass sculpture Signed and numbered 1/5. 20th century Dimensions: H: 47.5 ; W: 11.5 ; D: 11.5 cm. When the Soviet Union invaded Prague in 1968, Peter and his family fled to Sweden. Peter now lives with his wife Gunilla in Påarp, a suburb of Halmstad. They have two children: a son, Paul (b. 1975), and a daughter, Ingela (b. 1976). Today, Ingela looks after the commercial side of Peter's work, allowing him to concentrate fully on his creative process. Most of Peter's work is exhibited throughout Sweden. His magnificent women sculpted in bronze and glass, evoking the sea and the wind, can be admired in many galleries. In the late 70s, Peter worked exclusively in bronze, but returned to glass in the early 90s. Today, he works in both glass and bronze.
