A pair of early 20th century patinated spelter (white metal ) sculptures after François Moreau (French, 1831 - 1865 ) a renowned 19th century sculptor. The sculptures depict two rustic scenes, a young boy titled "Buttelet," sitting on a rock with a straw hat and agricultural tools, and a young girl titled "Fontaine Fleurie," seated with a basket of flowers beside a fountain. Each elevated on stepped circular metal bases with engraved nameplates with the impressed Moreau name, showcasing the delicate craftsmanship and romanticized pastoral themes typical of the artist's work. The patina exhibits earthy tones, accentuating the intricate details of their clothing, expressions, and natural surroundings. Measure from 12 1/8" - 12 1/2'. Signed ~ stamped / marked as stated above and shown in the photos along with the word France, in raised molded relief. Condition: Fair overall condition having normal age related surface wear.
