From the series of ceramic sculptures created by the artist in the early 1950s. Signed in Greek on base. Panos Valsamakis was one of the founders of artistic ceramics in Greece. He was born in Aivali. He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts in Marseille and ceramics at the School of Saint-Jean du Desert from 1923 to 1930. From 1930 to 1942 he directed the artistic workshop of “Kerameikos SA”. In 1942 he became artistic director of the Anonymous Ceramic Company of Lavrion (AKEL) until 1957, when he continued to work in his own studio in Maroussi until the end of his life. length: 33 cm., maximum height: 16 cm.
