작품 상세

The competition-winning design for the large-scale decoration of the apron of today's Václav Havel Airport is the work of Jan Koblasa, an important Czech post-war sculptor and painter. The relief was created not long after Jan Koblasa and Mikuláš Medek completed the decoration of the Jedovnice Church (1963). He learned about the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968 in Milan, Italy, and decided to emigrate. He returned to his country after twenty-two years abroad.
