Ron Cooper Labyrinth of Illusion 1984 Glazed and painted ceramic Torso 23 x 17 x 6 inches Signed and dated on reverse $200 In-house shipping available Ron Cooper (born 1943) began making Finish Fetish objects and Light and Space installations in the late 1960s. His work was included in seminal exhibitions from the period such as The West Coast Now at the Portland Art Museum, and The Disappearing Image/Reappearing Object at the Newport Harbor Art Museum. His work appeared in One Month, a 1969 landmark artist book produced by Seth Siegelaub, and the 1969 Whitney Biennial. Years later Cooper approached some of those same themes, light, reflection and transparency, in a counter-intuitive way with ceramics and the body.
