작품 상세

Bob and Tom Bennet were twin brothers who were active in the modern sculpture world for decades. This piece in particular represents some of their finest early work, done in the Sacramento area, before their move to Carmel in the 1970s. Length- 11 1/2" Height- 19 1/4" This particular sculpture dates from the early 1970s and is a museum worthy example of the early wire sculpture work that made their reputation as artists. From here they launched their wildly successful line of bronzes, which eventually had over 20 galleries worldwide. Few of these pieces survive, and even fewer come up for sale, with most remaining in private collections. This large figural example shows the depth of detail and emotion that the brothers could put in their sculpture, and represents among the finest California modernist sculpture of the period.
