Beschrijving NL Masker van mevrouw Patterson (1911). Brons, donkerbruine patina. Gemonogrammeerd 'RW'. Op sokkel in hout. Herkomst/provenance: A.J.J.Delen Lit.: Roger Avermaete, Rik Wouters, 1972 met referentie naar ex. uit de verzameling Van Bogaert als 'enig ex.' , nu in het bezit van het KMSKA (cat.nr. 3315). Onderhavig ex. wijkt echter af van het gekende uit het legaat Van Bogaert-Sheid door de smallere basis waarop het hoofd steunt. Recent vergelijkend onderzoek wees uit dat het hier gaat om een andere, tot op heden ongekende versie. A.J.J.Delen is lange tijd steun en toeverlaat geweest voor Rik Wouters. Hij schreef bij diens dood in 1916 een monografie die in 1922 uitgegeven werd bij De Sikkel. 21 x 18 x 16 Description FR Masque de madame Patterson (1911). Epreuve en bronze à patine brun foncé. Monogrammée 'RW'. Socle en bois. Provenance: A.J.J.Delen Lit.: Roger Avermaete, Rik Wouters, 1972, avec référence à un exemplaire de la collection Van Bogaert comme 'pièce unique', aujourd'hui dans la collection du Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Anvers (num. cat. 3315). Notre exemplaire diffère de l'exemplaire connu au point de la base plus étroite supportant la tête. Recherche comparative nous permet de conclure que la sculpture presentée dans notre vente est une pièce autrefois inconnue. 21 x 18 x 16 Description EN Mask of mrs Patterson (1911). The sculpture offered in our sale differs from the known sculpture in the more narrow base supporting the head. Recent comparative research allows us to conclude that our sculpture is another, hitherto unknown, version. A.J.J.Delen was a long-time friend and companion of Rik Wouters. After his death in 1916, he wrote his monography, edited in 1922 at De Sikkel. 21 x 18 x 16
