after Jean de Bologne, (French 1529-1608) A PAIR OF PATINATED BRONZE SCULPTURES, "Mercury" and "Fortuna," each signed in the bronze "J. de Bologne," each on one foot on putti masks with Mercury wearing a winged helmet while holding a Caduceus and Fortuna wearing a jeweled diadem and holding aloft a branch of laurel leaves, each raised on cylindrical pedestals with molded black marble top and conforming base, centering a bronze shallow relief frieze depicting allegorical putti representing the arts.
