The sculpture is made of superimposed wood panels that were mounted on cardboard and dated to the year 1970. Shown are six different profiles that have directed their gaze to the left side. The work is signed and dated lower right in pencil 'Ceroli 70' as well as numbered in pencil lower left in Roman numerals 'III/XX'. The sculpture is in good condition and comes mounted in a wooden frame. Slight drying cracks and small crease marks in the lower edge can be seen. The work has a total dimension in the frame of 73 x 103 x 5 cm. Mario Ceroli (born 1938) Mario Ceroli studied under the direction of Leoncillo Leonardi and Pericle Fazzini at the Academy in Rome and was initially focused on ceramic sculptures. In the sixties he was influenced by the pop art and works by Louise Nevelson and Joe Tilson. In this time he experimented with different materials; so among other things, his famous silhouettes of wood originated.
