PAINTED PLASTER SCULPTURE STUDY - Muse of Music, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (WI/AZ, 1867-1959), sculpted by Alfonso Ianelli (IL/CA, 1888-1965) for the Midway Gardens, Chicago. Part of a series of muses adorning one of the interior dance halls in the city block sized German-style entertainment complex built in 1914 on the site of the 'Sans Souci' amusement park (Cottage Grove Ave. & E. 60th St), forced out of business by prohibition and demolished by 1929. 18" t x 19" x 10".
