Most of Preissig's work is focused on graphics, whose techniques he studied and developed during his stay in Paris - among others in the studio of Karel Schmidt-Rottluff. The Flowering tree represents a lyrical and color-harmonious moment of spring, when the plum tree turns bright pink and the shining sun creates an extraordinarily lovely spectacle. Impressive Art Nouveau graphics dates back to 1905, ie created when Preissig returned to Prague, where he worked mainly as a graphic artist and where he remained until 1910.
