A Large Chinese Blue and White Porcelain 'Dragon' Bottle Vase, Danping REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-1949) 民國 青花纏枝蓮龍紋膽瓶 the vase of teardrop form, with a large globular body rising to tapered shoulders and narrowing to an even taught neck with a flush mouth rim, all supported on a straight foot. Densely decorated with sinuous dragons with claws outstretched, against a ground of meandering lotus scrolls issuing flowerheads, between bands of crashing waves at the mouth rim and above the foot, all enclosed in a silk lined hardwood fitted box.
