LI KERAN (1907–1989). China, dated Berlin 1957, 62.5 x 138.5 cm. Ink and colours on paper. Sunrise at Mount Tai. Inscribed and signed: Keran. Three artist's seals: Li, Moxi and Chen yan wu qu. One collector's seal: Xia. Mounted as a hanging scroll. Provenance: 1. Owned by Lothar Bolz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the GDR. Li Keran painted the picture in 1957 during a visit to Berlin and dedicated it to Lothar Bolz. 2. Acquired in the 1970s by Jerg Haas, a well-known German collector of Chinese ink painting and calligraphy, who was living in Berlin at the time. --------------- LI KERAN (1907–1989). Ein Sammlersiegel: Xia. Als Hängerolle montiert. Provenienz: 1. Im Besitz von Lothar Bolz, Minister für Auswärtige Angelegenheiten der DDR. Li Keran malte das Bild im Jahr 1957 anlässlich eines Besuches in Berlin und versah es mit einer Widmung an Lothar Bolz. 2. In den 1970er Jahren erworben von dem damals in Berlin wohnhaften Jerg Haas, einem bekannten deutschen Sammler chinesischer Tuschemalerei und Kalligraphie.
