Upper left seal "Zhen yi", lower right inscribed in Chinese "Painted in 1979" along with two artist seals "Wu Zuoren", "Qianxian Weijian" Provenance: Presented by Wu Zuoren to China Daily News in 1980, and exhibited along with fourteen other works by Modern Chinese artists in an exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum "Fifteen Contemporary Chinese Paintings," September 6-October 12, 1980, no. 6; purchased for $8,000 after the exhibition by Li Gim Ying; from the collection of Li Gim Ying Exhibitions: Brooklyn Museum, "Fifteen Contemporary Chinese Paintings," September 6-October 12, no. 15 and illustrated on the cover.
