Vertical stained glass triptych made by the prestigious English manufacturer Shrigley and Hunt. The composition is divided into three main panels with a pointed arch at the top, topped with openwork Gothic tracery in the central panel. The three figures are framed by a rich background of saturated colours and placed under golden canopies. The central panel shows Christ as the Good Shepherd, with the lamb on his shoulders and the crook. The right-hand panel depicts a younger figure with a halo and a pen in his hand (St John the Evangelist) and finally, the left-hand panel shows the figure of the Apostle or Saint, dressed in light-coloured robes and attributes. Size: 159 x 52 cm; 130 x 52 cm (x2) Provenance: · Acquired in Kendal, Lake District, UK, from a local antique dealer, who reported that it came directly from a church undergoing restoration and provided information on the manufacture of the piece.
