Antonio Salviati, a Venetian soffiato glass twin handled pedestal vase, Salviati & C., circa 1890, the amethyst baluster body with optic moulded ribs and dimples, twisted handles and applied band to the shoulder, on a hollow reeded knop and inverse baluster stem and folded foot, 30cm high Note: Salviati's designs combined traditional Murano blowing techniques with a new Arts and Crafts interpretation of historical forms, which later influenced other Italian designers such as Vittorio Zecchin for Venini Cappellin in the 1920s.
