Aymara Woman's Ahuayo, Dept. of Potosi, 19th C. Alpaca. An unusual woman’s heirloom mantle in a variant on the iscayo layout. Rare dye colors indicate that the artist understood how to source atypical colors from nature. The center join has been completely replace indicating long, hard use. There are areas of reweave. 4'6'' x 3'0'' (137 x 91 cm)
