Ca. 550 - 400 BC A collection of four painted ceramic vessels, including, from left to right: two globular bichrome vessels with broad flaring mouths and tall strap handles rising behind, decorated with dense horizontal banding; a globular bichrome vessel with a strap handle formed as a stylised head with projecting horns, decorated with geometric ornament on the handle and body; and a globular vessel with a broad mouth, the rounded body encircled by black and red bands with a short rear handle. Size: 120-225mm x 140-190mm; Weight: 2.7kg. Private London collection; previously acquired on the Belgian art market; originally in the collection of P V D Elst, Liege 1980’s.
