AD 1000 - 1300 A pair of inscribed brass trays, each circular with a shallow well, the interior centred by a roundel with a winged creature framed by a band of calligraphy and foliate scrolls, the sides with further inscriptional friezes punctuated by medallions, and the rims with interlaced panels alternating with roundels. Size: 150-185mm x 25-35mm; Weight: 965g. Provenance: Private collection of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1980s.
