Ca. AD 1100 - 1300 A bronze tray with a broad, rounded floor and rising sides that terminate in a multi-lobed star-shaped profile. The interior decoration is arranged around a central rosette, encircled by an intricate network of intersecting straight bands with alternating triangular and polygonal panels filled with fine vegetal scrolls, birds and small roundels. Kufic inscriptions are set in narrow panels along the inner wall. Size: 120mm x 470mm; Weight: 1.8kg. Provenance: Private London collection; previously French art market 1970s/1980.
