This type of historical memorabilia is currently collected primarily as a teaching tool, such as at the Jim Crow Museum which has been building a collection of racist objects, using the theme "witness, understand, heal". This simple "WHITES ONLY" original Hand-Painted wood sign depicts the trauma of 1930-40s and later, in the segregation period in Black History of the American experience. This sign has two holes on either side where it was screwed into a wall. There is definite age to the paint and wood with some expected surface wear and deterioration of the wood from age and exposure. The reverse side is blank with some white paint spread on it as made. This sign measures just over 17" long x 3" tall x 1" thick. We ship what we sell.
