Nadin Ospina (Colombian, born 1960). A contemporary pop art fantasy dual handled pottery vessel, produced in a style evoking Pre Columbian art pottery. An earthenware pot vessel with large, rounded, gourd form body on tripodal legs. Polychrome decoration with raised relief figural elements of an anthropomorphic dog, produced in a whimsical style strongly suggesting the Walt Disney cartoon character Goofy. Opposing handles modeled as arms, all surmounting tripodal stylized limb and tail form legs. Partial artist signature on one foot, dated 2001. From the Chicago estate of American gallerist and philanthropist Maria McCormick (1937-2021). Dimensions: 11 X 9 X 10 in. Condition: Good to fair overall condition in weathered fragile state as intended by the artist. Having intended moderate to heavy surface wear, loss, and restoration to underside.
