It is set in desert country with many sand dunes, rich in bush food. There are a number of trees distinctive to this area shown in the painting. Other black shapes in the painting depict Wanna (digging sticks) used for digging and collecting bush food." As stated on the Warlayirti Artists Aboriginal Corporation certificate of authenticity.
