A characteristic feature are the whitened face, the color of the spirit, and the elaborate, often figural coiffures. The masks represent the Igbo ideal of female beauty and purity of deceased maidens. They are danced during festivals by men wearing colorful costumes with false breasts and performing exaggerated versions of womens dances. Condition: The mask is in fair condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. There are some abrasions and smaller losses. Some minor repaired breakages to the animal bodies.
