Wood and fabric Benin, Fon people Voodoo object Beautiful patina Measurements: 49.5 x 17 cm (height x width) Overall height: 53.5 cm Very good condition This wooden sculpture was used in the voodoo cult and comes from the Fon people from Benin. Several objects have been tied to the man’s upper body, amongst them another small wooden figure. The word “voodoo” comes from the West African dialect of the Fon people meaning “spirit” or “deity”. The voodoo object is in very good condition with traces of age and use. The wood is covered by a patina and it is quite dry. The measurements are 49.5 x 17 cm (height x width).It is presented on a small plinth. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
