Ceramic, polychrome painted and glazed, with sculptural relief decoration. An exceptional wall plate by the ceramic artist F. Delyas, signed and monogrammed lower left and right. The plate captivates with its distinctive combination of a finely crackled, painted sky in the background and an extremely high, sculptural relief scene in the foreground. Depicted is a romantic landscape with a medieval castle complex and a gnarled tree. The surfaces of the relief elements are coated with a rough, “volcanic” shrink glaze, giving the scene remarkable depth and texture. Good age-appropriate condition, reverse with old metal suspension. Due to the delicate and fragile nature of the relief work, the presence of minimal age-related imperfections cannot be ruled out. 43 × 5.5 cm (D×T). German Description Großer Wandteller, F. Delyas, plastische Burg-Landschaft, um 1920 Keramik, polychrom bemalt und glasiert, mit plastischem Reliefdekor. Ein außergewöhnlicher Wandteller des Keramikkünstlers F. Delyas, signiert und monogrammiert unten links und rechts. Der Teller besticht durch die charakteristische Kombination aus einem gemalten Hintergrundhimmel mit feinem Krakelee und einer in extrem hohem, plastischem Relief aufgetragenen Vordergrundszene. Dargestellt ist eine romantische Landschaft mit einer mittelalterlichen Burganlage und einem knorrigen Baum. Die Oberflächen der Relief-Elemente sind mit einer rauen, „vulkanischen“ Schrumpfglasur überzogen, die der Szene eine beeindruckende Tiefe und Textur verleiht, altersgemäß guter Zustand, rückseitig mit alter Metallaufhängung. Aufgrund der filigranen und fragilen Reliefarbeit können kleinste, altersbedingte Imperfektionen nicht gänzlich ausgeschlossen werden, 43 x 5,5 cm (DxT).
