(American, 1930 - 2018) in various color glazes on a sand ground, seven stamped "Woodman". Betty Woodman was a sculptor and one of the foremost contemporary American ceramists. Largest: 1 1/2" high, 6 1/2" wide. These ceramics were specially designed and created by Betty Woodman in the early 2000’s for the modern glass house built on Fishers Island, NY by Thomas Armstrong, and designed by architect Tom Phifer. Woodman and Armstrong, who was the director of the Whitney Museum, were good friends. Provenance: Property of a New York City Collector.
