Les Blakebrough This is a limited edition, “Southern Ice” cup and saucer set and handcrafted by world renowned ceramicist Les Blakebrough. Trained in both Australia and Japan, Master Potter Les Blakebrough is a Research Fellow, UTAS. His classic forms in pristine porcelain grace every major gallery in Australia. The name “Southern Ice” is given to the porcelain to reflect Tasmania’s particular qualities - the whiteness of the snow and the translucence of ice. This set is made with the whitest, most translucent clay available. Hand Painted gold detail. These sets were produced exclusively for UTAS, and were presented for Commemorative occasions and significant staff presentations.
