In the "Rozanne" pattern, the jardinière signed by the artist, William Hall, the base numbered "424" below "Rozanne", stamped "RPCO" with a 5 below, the pedestal painted with conforming decoration. This jardinière was made in the first or second production by Roseville when the company began producing art pottery. At that time Roseville was not yet creating pedestals. The early jardinière is among the first works signed by William Hall who was well known in the art and pottery world as a designer for Weller prior to joining the Roseville Pottery Company. William Hall moved from Weller to Roseville and designed the Rozanne pattern in 1903.
