Legends “The Noble Heart” Mixed Media bust of General Robert E. Lee (1807-1870) gallantly poised to accept the agonizing and bitter defeat of the Confederate Army. Painfully aware of his heritage and role in history, he stands tall, erect and dignified, an enduring symbol of fortitude and magnanimity for the Southern people. The realistic portrayal of his stately demeanor, the intricate details of his features and military attire, and the lustrous finish of the piece suggest the pliability and warm hues of the Mixed Media used. A half-torso sculpture, it is mounted on a cylinder white-veined black marble base with a metal plaque affixed on the back. From Legends "The North & South Collection” Limited Edition #565/950 worldwide. Proudly made in the U.S.A. (1993). New in the original box.
