Berg, S. van den (1913-1998). (Sketchbook). Album, 65 lvs., 39 collages and 21 drawings (almost all signed and dated between 1986-1988), num. mounted newspaper clippings and num. annots. in pen/ pencil, orig. wr. w. mounted paper collage by SIEP VAN DEN BERG (verso) and titled "Het Witboek van Molier" (recto), large 8vo. - Paper clippings occas. yellowed. = Frontcover signed "SvdB 86" and backcover w. manuscript "Boekje voor niesje van Siep 1-88" in pen and black ink. Contains different collages, i.a. of letters, from pieces of skin product packaging and various shapes of black paper. The newspaper cuttings mainly report on the Catholic Church and its attitude against abortion. Furthermore containing a few drawings of pastors, titled i.a. "vrolijk leuke pastoor" and "verzuurde humeurige pastoor". Overall It gives a reflection of Van den Bergs critical attitude against the Catholic Church. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE III.
