Posters were shredded and used for art works (décollages). Object is regular taxed. 19% VAT is added to the purchase price for deliveries within the EU. Condition: The collage is in very good condition. Only the frame shows minimal signs of use. The dimensions of the stretcher are 65 x 54 cm, while the frame measures 70.2 x 59 cm. Arthur Aeschbacher (b. 1923) Arthur Aeschbacher was born in Geneva, where he studied at the Art Academy from 1941 to 1944. After WWII, he continued his education at the Académie Julian in Paris from 1948 to 1950. Around 1959 he joined the ‘Affichistes’, whose representatives belonged to the movement of the Nouveaux Réalistes in Paris. His early works were deeply inspired by the pictorial and sublime effects of painting. Later, Aeschbacher focused on unusual materials such as roller blinds and seems to have been also influenced by Cubism. His oeuvre includes not only décollages but also lithographs and tapestries. Today, works by Arthur Aeschbacher are on display at the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris, among others. The artist lives and works in Paris.
