FRIEDENSREICH HUNDERTWASSER 1928-2000 Wien 1928-2000 Title: Exodus into space / Flucht ins All, 1971 Technique: Original Hand Signed, Dated and Numbered Silkscreen in 30 colours with Metallic Embossing and Mix Media on paper Paper Size: 49 x 67 cm / 19.3 x 26.4 in Image Size: 41.5 x 55.5 cm / 16.3 x 21.9 in Additional information: The work is hand signed "Friedensreich Hundertwasser " in black pen in the lower right margin. It is stamped signed "Hundertwasser" in the lower right part. It is hand numbered in black ink numbered "26/300" and then stamped numbered "254/3000". This work is the fourth plate of the "Look at it on a Rainy Day" portfolio that included a series of 10 different screenprints. It was printed in an edition of 3000 impressions. The total edition included 300 signed and numbered impressions of each silkscreen when each portfolio had only one hand signed print and 9 stamped signed ones. Ours is one of these rare signed and numbered impressions. Finally the work is dated by the artist "1972 Grunwald" in the bottom margin. Three publishers Japanese stamps, Edition Luva (Ars Viva, Zurich), Ars Viva (Zurich), and Dietz Offizin (Lengmoos / Bayern) are situated at the lower left part. There is also a stamp echoing the work at the upper left corner. The paper bears the mark Schoeller Stern paper manufacturer. Literature: Koschatzky, Walter, 1996.
