Two pieces of Biedermeier furniture. 1st item: Sewing table, fruitwood with oak secondary, with rectangular black marble inset top over three dovetailed drawers with original round brass pulls. Trestle base with silhouetted urn form sides and a square stretcher tapering at each end. 29 1/2" H x 20 1/2" W x 13 1/2" D. 2nd item: Klismos style chair, fruitwood, having darker wood line inlay to curved back, solid splat, and straight seat rail; four square tapering sabre legs; slip in seat with black striped upholstery. 31" H x 23" W x 20" D. Both pieces Continental, likely German, second quarter 19th century. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Richard J. Eskind, Nashville.
