dating: about 1620 provenance: Italy, Long, straight, double-edged blade of hexagonal section, with deep fuller on both sides at the base, marked 'N B D N B D N B D'; tang with beautiful “CAINO” marking and 'OT' mark surmounted by a three-pointed crown. Iron hilt, quillon with straight quillons with shaped heads, three ring guards extending from the two arms of the hilt; guard shaped as a crescent at the ends, one side with a hemispherical fuller; counterguard with four loop guards. Vat-pommel with longitudinal grooves, hexagonal button. Spool made of iron wire binding and Moor's heads. An interesting and beautiful rapier, in good condition. length 141 cm.
