작품 상세
Comprising a kula-khud helmet, a circular dhal shield, and a bazu-band armguard, forged of steel and richly decorated with etching and gold koftgari inlay. The helmet is of classic hemispherical form, fitted with a sliding nasal guard and retaining chainmail protecting the neck and shoulders. The surface is engraved and overlaid with scrolling vegetal motifs and cartouches, formerly filled with gold, now partially worn, consistent with high-quality Indo-Persian workshop production. The shield is fitted with four domed bosses and displays concentric bands of engraved decoration interspersed with cartouches, all outlined in gold inlay against a darkened ground. The bazu-band armguard, composed of a curved forearm plate with articulated mail and fastening straps, is similarly engraved and inlaid. Iran, Qajar Period, 19th century.
