작품 상세

A French style officer’s sabre featuring the classic brass three-bar hilt of the 1821 pattern, with a sharkskin-wrapped grip bound in twisted brass wire. The engraving of the blade reads 'Garde Nationale 1830'. The pommel is decorated with a stylized laurel motif, typical of French Restoration and Second Empire aesthetics. The slightly curved single-edged blade is of regulation form, showing age patination and service wear. The scabbard is composed of leather with two brass mounts, including a suspension ring for belt attachment. The overall form corresponds to the French Model 1821 Officer’s Light Cavalry or Infantry Sabre, widely used throughout the July Monarchy, Second Republic, and Second Empire, and exported to other nations during the mid-19th century.
