Offered is an attractive Imperial German presentation 19th Century officer sword with etched presentation blade and period scabbard. The hilt features a lion-head pommel with backstrap, knuckle-bow/guard, and a wrapped grip with wire accents, retaining a strong, honest antique patina throughout. The blade is decorated with dense scroll and foliate etching and includes a clear personal presentation inscription in Gothic script: "Hans Ringsdorff. Weihnachten 1895."("Hans Ringsdorff. Christmas 1895.") The sword retains its steel scabbard with suspension mounts and rings, presenting as a complete and display-worthy officer’s sidearm from the late Imperial era.
