Lot of 2 cabinet card sized photos (5 x 7") of soldiers identified Camp Clark, Carson City, Nevada, First Battalion Nevada Infantry, USV, 1898. Photos by Lou Alexander. Camp Clark in Carson City, Nevada, was a short-lived military post established in 1898 during the Spanish-American War as a muster and training camp for Nevada volunteer troops. Named after Governor Reinhold Sadler's adjutant general, it housed the 1st Nevada Infantry Regiment before their deployment to the Philippines. Though active for only a brief period, it represented Nevada's contribution to national mobilization and left a small but notable imprint on Carson City's late 19th-century history. ^ Date: 1898 Country (if not USA): State: Nevada City: Carson City Provenance: Douglas McDonald Collection
