[BIBLIA LATINA] With the Glossa Ordinaria ascribed to Walafrid Strabo and the interlinear glosses of Anselmus Laudunensis. A substantial fragment only, containing Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Wisdom of Solomon, and Book or Sirach (Ecclesiasticus.) [52] leaves, or [104] pages. Modern wooden boards, backed in calf decorated in blind, with brass studs. FIRST EDITION OF THE BIBLE IN LATIN with the "Glossa Ordinaria," the primary commentary of the Middle Ages. It is also one of the largest Bibles of the period. This edition is dated no later than 1480 based upon contemporary inscriptions dated 1480 found in two other copies. The present is quite attractive, with red and blue rubrication throughout, and the beginning of Song of Songs bears an illuminated initial.
