Lot includes: A photo and letter relating to Andrew Simms of the Army of the Potomac, with photo captioned in manuscript on rear. August 6, 1860, letter written to Confederate soldier James L. Green of the 30th NC Inf., from N.L. Griffin discussing trip to Texas. Sept. 24, 1860, southern letter written to Confederate soldier above (James Green) discusses picking cotton and peaches. Letter is laminated. Two other letters from 1860 also written by N.L. Griffin and W.J. Griffin. Both have been laminated. Sept. 25, 1864 southern letter. Discusses sickness, typhoid fever, a soldier on furlough, etc. Written by B.P.R. An 1890 letter written by John Young (1831-1918) a SC Confederate officer who served on the staff of Robert E. Lee. Autograph letter signed by William Gwin (1805-1885), Senator and Gov. of Mississippi. With clipped section.
