작품 상세

Ren Yu (任預; 1853-1901) Chinese Qing Dynasty traditional scroll painting, ink on paper laid to silk, hanging scroll. Signed. A robed sage looks intently into the distance while standing beneath firmly planted pine, by Ren Yu (任預;1853-1901). A rice merchants son, who sold portraits for an added source of income. Upon close inspection most of smaller markings share the same direction which give a sense of the breeze moving over the landscape. Swirling lines form the clouds that section the mountainside into a more easily digestible feast for the eyes. There is a fine balance between soft and hard brush marks. Signed and sealed by red stamp marks in the top left and bottom right section.
